THOUBAL, May 30: Of the many youth from Khongjom who went to Serou and Sugnu on May 28 to rescue people after Kuki militants burnt down the two villages, one is still missing and he is suspected to have been killed by Kuki militants.
On dialling his mobile phone, one man who identified himself as a Kuki picked up the phone and said, “I have killed the phone’s owner”.
The missing man has been identified as Heigrujam Robinsana (26) s/o Dhana of Khongjom Keithel. Meanwhile the Khongjom Circle Coordinating Committee has appealed to all concerned to find out the whereabouts of Robinsana and hand him over to his family.
Urging the Government to find out the whereabouts of Robinsana and ascertain whether he is dead or alive,  people of Khongjom, Sapam, Tekcham, Chingtham, Papal, Langthabal, Langathel, Phundrei and Samaram staged a sit-in at Khongjom Keithel today. Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the sit-in-protest, Khongjom Circle Coordinating Committee convenor M Tomba decried that the State Government has done very little to protect innocent people and their properties. Chief Minister N Biren’s declaration that the Kuki militants were terrorists and they would be uprooted from the soil of Manipur came too late, he said.
Asking whether the Chief Minister was sleeping for the last 24/25 days, Tomba urged the State Government  to trace the whereabouts of Robinsana and hand him over to his family whether dead or alive. Khongjom Circle Meira Paibi Secretary Mutum Nirmala questioned as to why both the State Government and the Central Government have been feigning ignorance of how the Central paramilitary forces, particularly Assam Rifles have been acting in favour of SoO militant groups. People who went to Sugnu witnessed how the Central paramilitary forces helped Kuki militants in massacring innocent villagers, she said. She then questioned the Government of India’s hidden agenda.
