Call to protect integrity of Manipur, cancel SoO raised

The demand for immediate abrogation of the Suspension of Operation (SoO) with Kuki militant groups and protection of State's integrity is ever growing with more and more people coming out in support of the demand.
Lairenjam Soraren Seva Committee (LSSV) in collaboration with YSMC, NISC, SCO, LSUYC and Lairenjam Apunba Meira Paibi today staged a sit-in protest at LSSC ground in Lairenjam, Imphal West district.
During the sit-in, the protestors resolved to urge the Government to implement NRC in Manipur to protect the indigenous communities.
It was also decided to urged the Government to take make sure that cadre of the Kuki militant groups under Suspension of Operation (SoO) stay at their designated camps; protect the integrity of Manipur at all cost; ensure people stranded by the violence return safely to their home and necessary assistance is provided to the victims; appropriate action as per the law should be taken against the 10 MLAs threatening the integrity of the State.
Moreover, several bodies of Imphal East district today submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi through Deputy Commissioner of Imphal East, Kh Diana.
The joint memorandum listed various demands such as, "Drive out Narco Terrorists from Manipur'', "Cancel SoO with Kuki militants'', "No separate administration in Manipur" and "Stop the aggression of Narco Terrorists''.
Representatives of Pourabi Lamjing Nupi Marup, Itam Nungoi Meira Paibi, Wakhong Meira Paibi, Khewa Chaokhat Khongthang Nupi Marup, Mahila Welfare Association Uyumpok, Nupi Lamjing Lup Uyumpok Mamang Leikai, Women's Prohibition Company Sagolmang, Nupi Lup Khundrakpam Sorok Haidabi, Ekou Meira Paibi, Litanpokpi Nupi Lup, Pourabi Rising Star Club, Pourabi Yaipha Naharol Kanglup and Pourabi Development Committee along with COCOMI members W Premila handed over the memorandum to the DC in the presence of Additional DC, Shamim Ahmad Shah and SDO Sawombung, Surma Thiyam.
Meanwhile, Umanglai Kanba Apunba Lup (UKAL) has appealed to all concerned to refrain from spreading rumors/ news which may create panic/ hysteria among the masses amid the prevailing situation in the State.
In a release, UKAL alleged that the Government of India has failed to take any action against the armed militants attacking innocent civilians belonging to the Meetei community.
UKAL further asserted that the people do not need ex-gratia from the Government, they want appropriate actions against the external aggressors who have committed numerous atrocities in the State.
