Jr Girls' NFC : Manipur rout Maharashtra 6-0 in group opener

IMPHAL, Sep 21 : Manipur girls got off to a flying start in the Junior Girls National Football Championship group stage (Group B) with a 6-0 crushing of Maharashtra courtesy a second half brace from Moibungkhongbam Sanjana Chanu.
Manipur started strongly and cruised to a 3-0 lead with Khumukcham Bhumika scoring the opener in the 8th minute. Nameirakpam Arina made it 2-0 four minutes later before Hemam Linthoi hit the team's third after 23rd minutes.
After the lemon break, Moibungkhongbam Sanjana Chanu scored back to back goals in the 50th and the 67th minutes to make it 5-0 before substitute Namram Lamnganbi Chanu hit the decisive goal in the 90th minute.
Manipur will play Delhi in the next match on September 23.
In another Group B match, Haryana played out a 2-2 draw with Delhi.
