IMPHAL, Apr 14 : With an aim to bring forth a new and vibrant Manipur, the Manipur Thinker's Forum (MTF) organised a one day discussion programme on “A Resilient Manipur: Conversation on the Concept of Manipur” at Imphal Hotel, today.
Intellectuals from different fields took part in the programme.
Speaking at the function, retd Lieutenant General L Nishikanta Singh, who is the president of MTF, said that the Forum was established in 2019 by a group of retired officials to make people from all walks of life participate in society building and Nation building.
He said that the goal of the Forum is to make every  Manipuri aware about the idea of Manipur. He also said that the Forum will do whatever it can to guide the youth in the right direction.
Dr Homen Thangjam, an Associate Professor at Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU) said that the  programme was organised to understand what Manipur is and how the erstwhile kingdom has changed after the arrival of the British, the merger with India and the influx of illegal immigrants among others.
