AR rescues three medical personnel

IMPHAL, Apr 16: A doctor and two staff of Asian Hospital who had ventured into Twikon, a Kuki village amid the prevailing tension between communities, were rescued by personnel of 22 Assam Rifles Kangchup post today morning.
The rescued persons have been identified as Dr Rohem Singh, Momocha Singh and Arun Singh.
Sources said the Assam Rifles received information about three individuals venturing into the Kuki dominated area in a Toyota car at around 10 am. Based on the information, the AR launched operations to trace them.  After detailed ground search, the personnel of the 22 Assam Rifles traced the individuals at Twikon village. The AR then swiftly acted and brought the individuals safely to its post. On initial interaction, it was known that all 3 individuals are staff of Asian Hospital, Imphal and that they had mistakenly entered the Kuki village after getting disoriented while travelling from Imphal, said AR.
