VSAI, Keishamthong FC triumph in 5th Sangai Trophy

IMPHAL, Apr 17 : VSAI, Thangmeiband and Keishamthong FC pulled off wins in today's Group A and B matches of the ongoing 5th Sangai Trophy Veteran Football Championship at CYLC ground, Pishum.
In the Group A match, VSAI who were held to a draw by Langthabal FC in the previous match, edged 2-1 past KVFA, Kakching today thanks to goals from M Bidyasagar (14') and Khupneingam (33').
N Rakesh (38') scored the only goal for the Kakching team.
Meanwhile in the Group B match, Keishamthong FC extended their winning run to two-games by posting a 3-1 win over AMBA FC.
Keishamthong FC led the first half 2-1 with Rabichandra (8') and M Sanjitkumar (30+2') netting a goal apiece and Deepak Laiphrakpam scoring for AMBA FC in the 19th minute. Th Shivadutta then hit the final nail in the 47th minute to make it 3-1.
The Tournament will resume on April 21 with TBSFA, Taobungkhok playing MLVFA, Mayai Lambi; NKVFC, Utlou facing MVFC, Chandel and TRVSA, Malom playing UVSA, Lilong.
