14th State Junior Basketball ESU, LMYVA in junior boys' final

IMPHAL, Apr 20 : ESU, Wangkhei will square off against LMYVA, Lalambung in the title clash of the 14th State Junior Boys Basketball Championship hosted by the Manipur Basketball Association at Brahmapur Nahabam Basketball Court.
ESU reached the final with a comfortable 76-40 win over Model Club, Chingamakha after LMYVA edged out CYLC, Pishum 78-63 earlier in the first semi-final match.
For LMYVA, H Zenith led the scoring by accumulating the highest 24 points as M Lanchenba (23), M Owen (15) and L Rahul (14) followed suit.
On the other hand, Athouba topscored for CYLC with 23 points as David and Prince N picked 10 points apiece in a lost cause.
Meanwhile in the second semi-final match, Newton 23, K Krishnacharya 22 and Rishikanta 18 steered ESU to a 76-40 win over Model Club. Chinglemba 18 and H Lamyanba 12 were the leading point getters for CYLC, Pishum.
Earlier in the two quarter-final matches, CYLC reached the semis with a 54-48 win over Kokilbon while Model Club outlasted Thoubal 58-39.
The final match is scheduled tomorrow at 4 pm.
