16th Manipur State LeagueAFC pull off 4-2 win against NEROCA FC as LYCC crush USA 5-0

IMPHAL, Apr 27 : The Athletics Football Club (AFC), Thoubal upstaged NEROCA FC, Sangakpham 4-2 as Liwachangning Youth Cultural Club (LYCC), Chandel overwhelmed USA, Khurai 5-0 in today's Group A matches of the ongoing 16th Manipur State League.
At DSA ground in Kakching, AFC rode on doubles from Laishram Roshan and Hijam Shital to register a comfortable win against NEROCA FC this afternoon.
AFC entered into the break with a 2-0 lead with Roshan (15') and Hijam Shital (21') adding a goal apiece.
NEROCA FC however pulled back a goal through Laishram Suraj in the 49th minute AFC regained two goal advantage through Laishram Roshan's 54th minute strike.
The game looked to end 3-1 but NEROCA FC managed to further reduce the margin off a penalty converted by Soraisham Momo at the stroke of the 90th minute mark. NEROCA however had to see Hijam Shital add his second four minutes into stoppage time and eventually went down  2-4.
It was the third straight victory of the Thoubal team having slumped to a narrow 1-2 loss to Sang-gai FS in the opening game.
In another Group A clash staged later in the day at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong, LYCC rode on a treble from Chara Mongampha Moyon to rout USA 5-0.
LYCC had a dominating start and went into the break with a 2-0 lead with Ng Bedeenpar Moyon (4') and Chara Mongampha (42') netting a goal apiece.
After the restart, Chara Mongampha scored two goals back to back in the 42nd and the 50th minute to complete his hattric before Khangembam Shitaljit rounded off the scoring in the 87th minute.
It was the third win for the Chandel team in as many as five matches.
Meanwhile in a Group A match staged at DSA ground Kakching, YOSC played out a goalless draw with Young Physique Union (YPHU) to extend their unbeaten runs.
