Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Maheikol opened at Leimapokpam

A Thang-Ta academy named "Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Maheikol" was officially launched today at Leimapokpam Khunpham Awang Leikai in Bishnupur district.
The academy was opened during a meeting convened this evening at Leimapokpam Khunpham Awang Leikai with Huidrom Premkumar, president, Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association, Manipur in the chair.
The meeting was attended by local Thang-Ta enthusiasts, elders, students and womenfolk, said Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association (HLTTA), Manipur in a release.
Speaking at the occasion, oja Premkumar had stressed on the importance and relation the indigenous martial art has with the people of Manipur since time immemorial, HLTTA said.
He also added that preserving this art-form will tremendously help in conserving cultural aspects of the Manipuri society, it continued.
