Foundation day celebrated

IMPHAL, Nov 22 : Research Forum Manipur (REFORM) celebrated its 19th Foundation Day at the multipurpose hall of SCERT in Lamphelpat today.
The celebration was graced by REFORM president Prof Ch Ibohal Meitei, former presidents Dr N Birchandra Singh and Mutua Bahadur, member Dr Khangembam Shamungou Singh, treasurer Sapam Bheigya Singh and Aheibam Romel Singh, Director, SCERT as presidium members.
During the event, the gathering offered floral tributes to the photographs of deceased founder members of REFORM namely Late Mayanglambam Gourachandra and Late Dr Thokchom Brojendro.
They also observed two minutes of silence to pay their respect to the departed souls.
REFORM general secretary Dr Konjengbam Chinglenkhomba Meetei was also present at the event.
Similarly, the 1st Foundation Day of Students Relief Boarding was celebrated today at its premises in Airport Road, Imphal.
The Boarding is run by TCM Private Limited for students affected by the prolonged conflict which has been going on for more than two years.
At the event, TCM Private Limited’s MD Tongbram Chingkhei said that the conflict which began on May 3, 2023, has forced many people including students to take shelter in relief camps set up at various places.
He asserted that to ensure the studies of displaced children are not interrupted, TCM took the initiative to provide free boarding facilities to these children.
Stating that many displaced children from across the State are currently staying in the boarding, Chingkhei announced that the company will continue to provide all possible assistance to children taking shelter in relief camps.
