Rameshwar named Legislative leader

IMPHAL, Nov 24 : With the appointment of former MP Dr Lorho S Pfoze as the new president of the Manipur State NPP, the party's National president, Conrad K Sangma has nominated MLA M Rameshwar Singh and MLA Kh Loken Singh as the Leader of the Legislative Party and Chief Whip of the party respectively.
The decision to nominate the two MLAs to their respective positions was unanimous and effective immediately, said letters NPP president Conrad K Sangma wrote to Manipur Legislative Speaker Th Satyabrata on November 22.
Notably, this major reshuffle within the State NPP came months after Tadubi MLA N Kayisii, who served as its president, passed away on January 18, 2025.
Along with the appointment of Dr Lorho S Pfoze as the party's State president on November 22, the party's National president Conrad K Sangma had announced the appointment of Kshetrigao MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan, Moirang MLA Thongam Shanti and Tamenglong MLA Janghemlung Panmei as working presidents.
