AR hosts friendly volleyball match at Shokvao

IMPHAL, Nov 24 : In a spirited outreach to strengthen civil-military ties, a friendly volleyball match was organised at Shokvao village, Manipur, by the Shangshak Battalion.
The event brought together youth from Shokvao and Ramva villages and Assam Rifles troops in a vibrant display of sportsmanship and community bonding, said PRO IGAR (S) in a press release.
The match drew an enthusiastic crowd of 95 villagers, 35 from Shokvao and 60 from Ramva who gathered with palpable excitement. Elders, women and children turned out in strength, cheering on the players and celebrating the shared spirit of unity. The game was marked by high energy and mutual respect, with both teams playing in good faith and camaraderie, it added.
Following the match, a brief interaction allowed participants to express appreciation and a keen interest in future engagements. The youth conveyed their desire for more such initiatives, recognising the role of sports in building lasting bonds between communities and security forces, it continued.
