Remand for content creator

IMPHAL, Nov 25: A 25-year-old digital content creator, arrested on the charge of spreading false information and promoting conspiracy to commit criminal offences, has been remanded to police custody for 4 days till November 27.
The digital content creator identified as Yumkhai- bam Shantikumar was produced before the Duty Ma- gistrate, Imphal West yesterday. He hails from Tangkham Awang Leikai, Haraorou, Pangei Yangdong, Imphal East district.
The accused was arrested by the City police after a video of him interviewing random persons at Khwairamband Keithel surfaced.
In the video, he is allegedly seen asking individuals at the Keithel if they would dare to hurl a bomb at the Sangai Festival venue.
City police had registered a suo moto case based on the video and arrested the 25-year-old. The police had also seized a mobile phone from his possession.
In the Court of the Duty Magistrate, Imphal West yesterday, the prosecutor submitted that the accused has admitted to the charges levelled against him, and prayed for his custody for smooth investigation of the case.
The Duty Magistrate, after hearing the submission of prosecution and on perusal of the case record, remanded the accused to 4 days police custody till November 27.
