15th Manipur International Polo Manipur end Colombia’s unbeaten run by handing 10-3 defeat; India-A cap campaign on winning note

IMPHAL, Nov 26 : Colombia’s three game unbeaten run in the 15th Manipur International Polo came to an end as hosts India-B (Manipur) handed them a 10-3 defeat this afternoon as the tournament hosted by the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung entered the 5th day.
Manipur, having registered two comfortable wins on the trot once again demonstrated their dominance in the field on the back of S Bon Bon to devastate the visitors 10-3.
Rampant S Bon Bon earned Manipur a 3-0 first chukker lead today before T Pradeepkumar scored twice and Bon Bon had his fourth goal to make it 6-2 after two chukkers.
For Colombia, Federico Puyana found the opener in the 2nd minute of the second chukker before Alejandro Puyano scored the second in the 4th minute.
Colombia further pegged back as Manipur further swelled their lead to 9-2 after three chukkers as Bon Bon scored two more goals and Pradeepkumar scored in between before Bon Bon added one in the final chukker and Alejandro Puyano scored his second and team’s third to make the final scoreline read 10-3.
With the win, Manipur confirmed their place in the final slated for November 29 with a match left to play against USA, who have registered a win against India-C and played out a 6-6 draw India-A.
Colombia, who had registered two wins and a draw in the first three league matches, still have a glimmer of hope to qualify for the final in case USA lose or draw in their final match against Manipur.
Earlier in the day, India-A (IPA) ended their campaign with an 8-4 victory over India-C (Chhattisgarh).
India-A, who had drawn twice in the three previous matches, led the first chukker 1-0 thanks to Ravindra Mang’s solitary strike in the closing minute before Major Anant Rajpurohit  added one and Vijay Singh scored twice to make it 4-2 after two chukkers as Kh Sushillo and Kangjam Swarna Kumar scored a goal apiece for India-C.
Vijay Singh took control of the game for India-A by scoring twice in the third chukker and one in the fourth chukker.
Ravindra Mang also added one in the third chukker to earn his team a 7-4 lead as Lt Col Aman Singh struck twice for India-C.
