Fear grips Game Village after midnight attack

IMPHAL, Nov 28 : A group of unidentified miscreants allegedly intimidated and assaulted residents of five quarters at Langol Game Village Zone-III on the intervening night of November 25 and 26.
Addressing the media at the Manipur Press Club today, Samom Dhruba, general secretary of Uripok Apunba Lup (UAL), stated that a group of masked individuals, who were not fluent in Meiteilon, entered quarters numbered A-65, A-66, A-71, A-72, and A-73 at Game Village Zone-III on the intervening night of November 25 and 26 and physically assaulted the male members of the families living there.
Barging into residential areas and assaulting innocent people has traumatised the entire community and created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity in the locality, he added.
Warning that similar criminal incidents could occur in other areas if the authorities fail to treat the matter seriously, he urged the relevant authorities to immediately identify the culprits and take stringent action against them.
He appealed to the people to stay vigilant.
