JNGVO says no to tagging wrong districts

IMPHAL, Nov 28: The Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organisation (JNGVO) has categorically stated that no one should tag the names of other districts on places located within the revenue district of Kakching.
According to a press release issued by JNGVO Kakching, an awareness programme on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Udyam registration was held on November 25, 2025 at Khangshim village under 60-Laijing, Kakching district.
But the organisers of the programme tagged Tengnoupal district to Khangshim village as displayed in the programme’s banner.
Any training or awareness programme for Kakching district or Bishnupur district or Thoubal district may be held at GM Hall or City Convention Centre but the fact that the particular site is in Imphal West or Imphal East cannot be changed, it said.
It questioned the intention of the organisers for not saying “Khangshim Community Hall, Kakching district”.
The JNGVO, Kakching said that they have submitted a representation to the Deputy Commissioner, Kakching district with an appeal to look into such matters which can create misunderstanding and untoward incidents.
The particular programme held on November 25 at Khangshim village conveyed an evil design to convert Khangshim village as the district headquarters of Tengnoupal district while it is undeniably and indisputably inside Kakching district, the representation said.
Such a controversial naming would ignite a sense of anger and frustration among the people in general and the youth in particular, it said.
