House gutted

THOUBAL, Nov 28 : A dwelling house was gutted at Thoubal Moijing at around 8.30 pm on Thursday.
The house belonged to Moijing Gram Panchayat ex-Pradhan Mohd Abdul Warish.
Mohd Abdus Sukur, elder brother of the ex-Pradhan said that the cause of the inferno could not be ascertained as it started from an unoccupied room.
All articles kept in four rooms including cash, furniture items, clothes and documents were destroyed by the fire, he said.
Even though Fire Service personnel arrived on time, they did not do anything saying that their machine was not working, Mohd Abdus Sukur said.
It was quite unfortunate that the fire tenders whose primary duty is responding effectively in an emergency situation were so careless, he said.
He said that the inferno was brought under control before it could spread to neighbouring houses/structures with the help of people of the neighbourhood.
Mohd Abdus Sukur has also conveyed gratitude to the people of the neighbourhood.
