3rd Premier League RAU upset AIM 3-2 with flurry of late goals

IMPHAL, Nov 29 : RAU, Lairikyengbam Leikai registered one of the most unexpected win in the 3rd Premier League 2025-26 as they rallied from 2 goals down to snatch a 3-2 win against AIM, Khabam with a flurry of three goals in the closing minutes including two in the stoppage time at SSC Ground, Sekta.
AIM enjoyed a 2-0 lead till 87 minutes as Khangembam Shitaljit opened the scoring in the 31st minute before Telem Suranjit doubled the advantage in the 68th minute.
Chongtham Raj Singh however halved the deficit for RAU in the 88th minute before Leishising Tallanao equalised three minutes into the stoppage time (90+3’) and Ningthoujam Bikash hit the winner in the following minute to break the AIM’s hopes securing all three points.
It was the third win for RAU in as many as 9 games that also included three drawn matches.
Earlier in the day, SSU further cemented on top of the 15-team top-flight tournament by defeating ASUFII FA for the 8th win in 10 matches.
The lone goal that settled the issue was scored by Okram Rohit, who subbed in for Khumanthem Hemlet after the restart, in the 63rd minute.
