IMPHAL, Nov 30 : BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sarda Devi has called on all political parties to collaborate by sharing ideas and working together for the State's development, transcending their political affiliations.
The BJP Manipur unit, in association with its Mayang Imphal Mandal, organised a programme at Mayang Imphal Thana Awang Leikai, celebrating the 150 years of Vande Mataram, 128th edition of Mann Ki Baat and Vidhan Sabha Sammelan, today.
At the function, she stated that some internally displaced persons (IDPs) have already returned and resettled in their original homes while many others are eagerly awaiting similar rehabilitation.
The pace of restoring normalcy in Manipur could have been significantly faster had all sections of society and political parties set aside their differences and worked unitedly, she said.
Even as Sarda appealed to people to never politicise the suffering of the masses, she claimed that BJP is the party that extends the maximum help to people affected by the crisis among all political parties.
She also claimed that MLAs and party office-bearers put every effort to control the crisis in its initial days by staying day and night at the Chief Minister’s bungalow.
The relief and rehabilitation work carried out by the BJP is driven purely by humanitarian concern and not for publicity or social media posts, Sarda said and alleged that some political parties, however, uploaded photographs and videos of every aid they extend to IDPs.
She said that politics must be put aside when working to safeguard Manipur.
