PNTMP celebrates Platinum Jubilee

Senapati, Dec 9: The Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me, Paomata (PNTMP) celebrated its Platinum Jubilee, marking 75 years since its inception, with a grand event.
The event was graced by MLA of  48-Mao AC, Losii Dikho as chief guest, Dr Alexander Pao, former MLA of  47-Karong AC & President, Mount Everest College as the honoured guest and Dr Veio Pou, Associate Professor, Delhi University as the Jubilee speaker respectively.  Woba Joram, Working President, NPF, MSU was the chief host and Zalmon Maikho, the first Poumai Entrepreneur in F&B, FMCB & Tech Start-Ups, Founder BistroClaytopia, Bangalore as the chief patron of the Platinum Jubilee.
The Platinum Jubilee cum 40th Sports Meet will culminate on December 18.
The jubilee monolith was blessed by Rev Fr Aloysius, and was unveiled by RB Panii, president of Poumai Naga Union.
Daokho Thozii, president, PNTMP, said the celebration honors pioneers whose sacrifices laid the foundation of the organisation. He highlighted the Jubilee theme "Honouring the Past, Embracing the Future," urging the community to preserve its heritage while striving for innovation, excellence and unity.
Dasou Daiho, one of the eldest surviving founder presidents of the student body, recalled humble beginnings when gatherings were small and resources limited. He blessed the PNTMP in a traditional way to flourish and prosper in future.
Blessing the student community, he urged them to "think right, do right and stand upright," inspiring commitment to growth rooted in cultural values.
Dr Alexander Pao noted that 75 years symbolised growth and maturity comparing the challenges of earlier  decades with modern progress.“He stressed the need to move forward without prejudice or jealousy, reminding the youth that technological advancement now enables achievements  that once took weeks of effort. He emphasised respect, trust and integrity, adding that cooperation and hard work remain key to community development.
Speaking as the chief guest, Losii Dikho lauded the organisers for successfully upholding the legacy of the student body. He encouraged the youth to uphold values, enhance education and leadership, and pursue opportunities in various fields, including sports and public service.
Noting improvements over the years, he called for greater participation to produce future leaders.
The event also witnessed the felicitation of former presidents of PNTMP, followed by a minute's silence in honour of departed leaders.
A Jubilee souvenir was later released to mark the milestone and honour the organisation's journey through 75 remarkable years.
