Cooch Behar Trophy Plate 4th tie Ali Karim, Danish too hit half centuries as Manipur declare 2nd innings on 395/8, give Sikkim 406-run target

IMPHAL, Dec 10 : State trio of Thokchom Lucky, Ali Karim, Md Danish redeemed themselves in the second innings to score big half centuries to help Manipur declare on 395/8 and give hosts Sikkim a target of 406 runs in a fourth round clash of the Cooch Behar Trophy Plate group at SICA Ground, Rangpo.
Resuming the third day at 161/4 courtesy of Thokchom Lucky’s 147-ball 87 (14 fours) scored yesterday, Manipur kept their composure intact and gathered 234 runs today thanks to two more half century knocks coming from Ali Karim (93 off 179; 12 fours) and Danish (74 off 126; 5 fours).
Ali Karim and Lanchenba who was at the restart of the innings forged 89 runs for the 5th wicket off 177 balls to keep the innings on track till Lanchenba was undone by Aadnan on 20.
Ali Karim and Danish then combined well to stitch another remarkable partnership of 74 runs off 153 balls to take Manipur past the 300-run mark but Parvin removed Ali Karim for the 6th wicket in the 100th over.
Danish then gathered 47 runs with Zamir 15 off 57 for the 7th wicket before Manipur declared on 395 with Rain 19 and Kaiku remaining unbeaten for the 9th wicket stand.
Aadnan 3/156 and Parvin 3/57 shared 6 wickets in the innings as Bhavya and Rohit registered a wicket apiece.
Notably, Manipur were dismissed for 155 in the first innings before Danish 3/38, Rain 2/17, and Y Chingkhei Nganba 2/19 joined forces to bundle out Sikkim for 145 runs in the first innings.
Continuing the day, Sikkim were 36/1 at stumps on Day 3 losing Avnees on 6 to Y Chingkhei Nganba in the 4th over.
