IMPHAL, Dec 11 : Mayang Imphal AC MLA K Robindro has greeted the people on the eve of the Nupi Lan Day.
Robindro, in his message, said that honouring Nupi Lan is not just about recalling history, it is about drawing inspiration for 'our present and future.'
He continued that Nupi Lan became the first powerful political awakening led by women in Manipur, challenging colonial administrative oppression.
"As we face the complex of the 21st century - be it safeguarding our unique identity, promoting equitable development, ensuring social justice or protecting our environment-the spirit of Nupi Lan must be our guiding light", he said.
Paying his tributes to the martyrs and heroes of Nupi Lan, the MLA appealed to the people to uphold the dignity, rights and aspirations of 'our women.'
