Delhi meet likely on Govt formation: Biren

IMPHAL, Dec 12: Ex-Chief Minister N Biren has expressed strong belief that the meeting of BJP MLAs convened by the party’s high command on December 14 would be on the formation of a popular Govt in the State.
Responding to queries raised by media persons at the Nupi Lan complex where President Droupadi Murmu paid rich tributes to the Nupi Lan bravehearts, N Biren said that the scheduled meeting is most likely to deliberate on the current situation of Manipur as well as on the return of a popular Government.
“I believe that the meeting is most likely to do with the formation of a popular Govt in the State. However, no agenda has been set as of now”, Biren said.
Saying that most of the BJP MLAs are likely to attend the meeting, the ex-Chief Minister called upon all the people to pray for early instalment of a popular Government.
Of all the revolts waged against British colonial rulers, the Nupi Lan of 1939 waged by Manipuri women is a very rare one in the entire histories of both Manipur and India, he said.
It is a moment of pride for all the people of Manipur that the President of India came to the State on this historic occasion and paid rich tributes to the martyrs and bravehearts of Nupi Lan, Biren said
He also conveyed gratitude to the President on be- half of the people of Manipur.
He further paid obeisance to all the bravehearts of Nupi Lan.
