RIMS Director assists

IMPHAL, Dec 12: The Director, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal has extended humanitarian support to a BSc Nursing student of the College of Nursing, RIMS, who has been displaced by the Manipur conflict.
A victim of the violent conflict that erupted in Manipur on May 3, 2023, the student has been facing severe hardships as she continues her studies with resilience and determination. Recognizing her circumstances and to ensure that her academic progress remains uninterrupted, the Director, RIMS, Imphal has taken the initiative to provide essential assistance, RIMS said in a statement.
As a gesture of care and compassion, the Director has arranged for the student’s academic mess fee to be fully covered. Additionally, all required textbooks for the current academic session, along with other essential miscellaneous items, have been provided to her, it said. "This act of support reflects RIMS’ unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive academic environment. It underscores the institution’s dedication to uplifting students affected by conflict and displacement, ensuring that no student is deprived of educational opportunities due to adversity," RIMS said. RIMS, Imphal remains steadfast in upholding its mission of service, empathy and academic excellence, it added.
