U-19 Women’s One Day Trophy Manipur open Plate Group campaign with 9-wicket win over Arunachal Pradesh

IMPHAL, Dec 13 : Bowlers and Lourembam Prena produced sublime performances to help Manipur kickstart U-19 Women’s One Day Trophy Plate campaign with a 9-wicket win over Arunachal Pradesh at VCA Stadium, Civil Lines, Nagpur today.
Arunachal Pradesh were bundled out for 130 runs within 45.2 overs after they won the toss and elected to first and Manipur chased down the target in 22.5 overs.
Tongbram Bandana (3/15 in 5.2 overs) played a pivotal role in dismantling Arunachal Pradesh as Thoithoibi (2/13 in 10 overs) and Barkatun (2/16 in 10 overs) took struck in regular intervals to share four scalps between them.
K Sayatombi (1/28) and Th Alice (1/26) also chipped in with a wicket apiece in the innings where in only Nabam Kari 29 off 78, Manisha 18 not out off 37, Kanika 18 off 27, and Tarak Yal 13 off 28 were able to register double digit scores.
In reply, Lourembam Prena scored a half century (64 off 64) on the back of 12 fours before Kebriya 43 not out off 67 balls (4 fours) and Ningthoujam Taniya 2 not out off 6 sealed the victory in style.
It was the remarkable 118-run first wicket partnership off 123 balls between Kebriya and Prena that set the momentum for the convincing win before Yain broke the partnership in the 21st over.
Manipur will play Meghalaya in the next match on December 15 at Lady Amritbhai Daga College Ground, Nagpur.
