More BJP MLAs depart for Delhi

IMPHAL, Dec 13 : More BJP MLAs including former Chief Minister N Biren and Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Thokchom Satyabrata left Imphal for New Delhi today to attend a key meeting convened by the party's high command.
Other BJP MLAs who have headed to New Delhi are Th Biswajit (Thongju AC), Y Khemchand (Singjamei), Konthoujam Govindas (Bishnupur), Dr S Ranjan (Konthoujam), H Dingo (Sekmai), L Sushindro (Khurai), Karam Shyam (Langthabal), Th Shyamkumar (Andro), K Robindro (Mayang Imphal), P Brojen (Wangjing Tentha), Kh Joykisan (Thangmeiband), Dr U Deben (Wabagai), T Robindro (Thanga), RK Imo (Sagolband), Th Arunkumar (Wangkhei), S Kunjakeswor (Patsoi), Kh Ibomcha (Lamlai), S Kebi (Naoriya Pakhanglakpa), Md Achab Uddin (Jiribam), Dipu Gangmei (Nungba) and S Premchandra (Kumbi).
A well-placed source said that all Kuki BJP MLAs, except one, are expected to attend the meeting.
Some MLAs told the media that the meeting may be related to the formation of a popular Government, although the Central leadership has not disclosed the exact reason for the gathering.
It is reported that the meeting is scheduled for December 14 at 5.30 pm.
Notably, Manipur is presently under the President's Rule.
The State Assembly was placed under suspended animation following the resig- nation of Chief Minister N Biren in February this year.
