NAPSA crush LCCC by 72 runs in Veteran Cricket tourney

IMPHAL, Dec 14 : Bhogendro and bowlers shone as NAPSA, Kha Imphal crushed LCCC, Lilong by 72 runs for the second straight Group A win in the 22nd Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground.
NAPSA opted to bat first and raised a modest total of 153/8 in the allotted 30 overs thanks to sensible knocks from Bhogendro 42 off 44, Ratan 36 off 43, Somorendro 16 off 27, and Puthiba 13 not out off 11.
Puthiba (4/16 in 6 overs), Johny (3/10 in 2.3 overs), Simon (2/22 in 4 overs) then combined well to dismantle the LCCC line up in the chase that folded up within 22.3 overs with a total score of 81 runs.
L Khaba 23, Shaphaba 13, and Srinivashan 11 were the only double digit run getters for LCCC in the second innings.
Earlier in the first innings, Shaphaba (3/22), Kison (2/22) , Santosh (1/42), and Shibadatta (1/31) were among the wickets for LCCC.
Puthiba who scored an unbeaten 13 and picked four wickets was adjudged man of the match.
