Winter Tennis : Premjit vs Brojen in men’s open singles final

IMPHAL, Dec 14 : Premjit will lock horns with Brojen in the title clash of the men’s open singles event in the ongoing Winter Tennis Tournament organised by IDTA and ASPTM at IDTA Complex.
Premjit struggled 7-5, 6-7 (7-5), 10-4 past Ribhaskar in a semi-final match today to book his final ticket while Brojen outlasted Padameshwar 6-2, 6-4 in another semi-final match. The final match is slated for December 25.
The final line up of the 45+ men’s singles competition was also completed today with Tuleshwor and Korounganba securing comprehensive semi-final victories.
Tuleshwor won 6-2, 6-0 over Manikanta in a semi-final clash as Korounganba eased to a 6-1, 6-0 win against Shitaljit in another semi-final match.
Tuleshwor also set up the 50+ men’s singles title clash with Jayenta as Tuleshwor prevailed 6-1, 6-1 against Kumarjit and Jayenta prevailed 6-2, 6-1 against Dilip.
The day also saw completion of the semi-final line up of the 40+ men’s doubles competition.
In the quarterfinal matches staged today, Aken and Korou beat A Prem and Chingkhei 6-4, 6-4; Shitaljit and Sanayaima won 6-0, 6-0 against Momo and Amol; and Bona and Ch Pritam prevailed 6-0, 6-0 against Motilal and S Ranjit.
Khogen and Mohen in 50+ men’s doubles final
The pair of Khogen and Mohen reached the 50+ men’s doubles final today with a 7-5, 7-6 (12-10) win over Leisemsana and N Ranjit.
