Runaway leaders SSU end league campaign with 1-1 draw

IMPHAL, Dec 14 : Runaway leaders Southern Sporting Union (SSU), Singjamei ended their campaign in the 3rd Premier League 2025-26 with a 1-1 draw with Social Sporting Club (SSC), Sekta on the latter’s homeground.
Both SSU and SSC started cautiously and entered into the break goalless until SSU took the lead in the 79th minute when Okram Rohit made a clinical finish.
The lead was however cancelled within 2 minutes as Ningombam Arjun secored the equaliser to put SSC back into contention.
Despite efforts, the two sides failed to find the winner and eventually they ended up sharing a point apiece.
With the result, SSU were able to amass 35 points from 14 matches that included 11 wins and 2 draws.
Later in the day, KIYC thrashed RAU by 3-0 goals courtesy of a goal apiece from Leishungbam Bankimchandra (13’) and Chanambam Ronald (49’), and an own goal conceded by RAU’s Lamjingba Nongthombam (45+2’).
