TSE staff named for media fellowship

IMPHAL, Dec 16 : Taorem Biswhajit, an Assistant Editor at The Sangai Express (Manipuri edition), has been selected for the 6th Media Fellowship in Scientific Journalism of Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal.
This marks his sixth media fellowship.
The programme, which will run for three months, is organised by the Public Relations and Media Management (PRMM) cell of CAU, Imphal.
He is one of three journalists chosen for this programme with the other two being Phurailatpam Kenny, correspondent of India Today NE, and Saikhom Ruben, video journalist of Impact TV.
Letters of approval were handed over to the three journalists during a function held  at CAU, Imphal today.
Information and Publicity Officer of CAU, Imphal Dr Indira Thounaojam stated that the university has been organizing the fellowship programme to raise awareness about the research being conducted at the university so that the public can benefit from the findings.
She also said that the Vice Chancellor of the university has been providing maximum support to the fellowship programme.
Dr Indira noted that previous editions of the programme were beneficial, as the university received valuable feedback from the public after the research findings were published in the newspapers.
T Bishwajit, son of Ibohal and Memcha, is a resident of Keirao Bitra Makha Leikai.
He has been working in the media industry since 2002 and is a recipient of the State Journalist Award.
He received the award in 2013 for rural reporting, in 2018 and 2022 for Parliamentary reporting, and in 2023 for public health and hygiene.
