Phaomei Kaikhuang clan holds historic first conference at Noney

Noney, Dec 16: The Phaomei Kaikhuang (Clan) of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland successfully held its 1st Conference at Rhema Public Academy, Khumji Bazar, in Manipur’s Noney district from December 15 to 17, 2025, marking a historic milestone for the clan.
The three-day conference was organised under the inspiring theme, “See how pleasant it is to see the gathering of the brethren in unity.”
The conference commenced with the flag hoisting by Pouh Lungkubuan Phaomei, Chairman of the Conference Committee, followed by the rendition of the theme song.
Pouh Rev Suaihiam Phaomei, convenor of the Drafting Committee, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the significance of unity, fraternity and collective responsibility among the brethren.
Adai Phaomei, social worker, graced the occasion as chief guest, while Meibuan Phaomei, former Deputy Mayor of the Imphal Municipal Council (IMC), attended as guest of honour. The dignitaries were accorded a warm traditional reception by the organising committee and volunteers in full traditional attire.
The Conference Monolith was unveiled by the chief guest, followed by the conference theme song led by Meinganjei Phaomei and a vibrant cultural dance performance by Luangrang Phaomei Kaokhuang.
A souvenir book brought out to commemorate the event was formally released by Meibuan Phaomei.
The conference witnessed the participation of CSO leaders from the Longmai area, Rongmei leaders, Phaomei Kaokhuang clan leaders, and delegates from Assam, Manipur and Nagaland, with thousands of people attending, making the maiden conference a grand success and a celebration of unity and shared identity.
