69th NSG Sepaktakraw U-17, U-19 boys and girls book quarterfinal berths

IMPHAL, Dec 17 : Manipur U-17 boys and girls and U-19 boys and girls all qualified for the quarterfinals of the 69th National School Games Sepaktakraw that began yesterday at Jodhpur in Rajasthan under the aegis of the School Games Federation of India.
The State U-17 boys finished Group A winners in the league round to qualify for the quarterfinals as they beat Madhya Pradesh 15-3, 15-5 for the first win and Punjab 15-5, 15-5 for the second win.
The State U-17 girls meanwhile finished Group A runners up but it was more than enough for them to qualify for the last-8 round. They beat Telangana 15-5, 15-13 for the first win and Jharkhand 15-3, 15-8 for the second win before going down 15-4, 7-15, 13-15 to Delhi in the third match to end their campaign as group runners up.
The U-19 boys also shone with three of three wins to finish Group A winners and made it to the quarterfinals.
They opened their league campaign with a 15-8, 15-6 win over Telangana before defeating Madhya Pradesh 15-9, 15-7 for the second win and Delhi 15-9, 15-13 for the third straight win.
Manipur U-19 girls too suffered a league round loss to emerge as Group A runners-up but booked their quarterfinal berth.
Manipur started their campaign with a 12-15, 12-15 loss to Karnataka but returned into the competition with a 15-11, 15-9 win over Jharkhand before defeating Delhi 15-7, 7-15, 15-13 in the last league round match.
