IMPHAL, Dec 17: The All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO), AMAWOVA, COHR, MSF and PLMPAM have vehemently condemned the fierce attack carried by Kuki militants using sophisticated firearms and bombs at Torbung and Phougakchao Ikhai on the evening of December 16, 2025.
Speaking to media persons at Kwakeithel today, AMUCO president Sorokhaibam Sanjoy  said that AMUCO, COHR, AMAWOVA, MSF and PLMPAM have been working tirelessly for the resettlement of all the people who have been displaced from their homes on account of the violent conflict which erupted on May 3, 2023.
Sanjoy said that they will continue working for resettlement of all the IDPs at the earliest.
The Bishnupur ADC initiated a resettlement process at Torbung and Phougakchao Ikhai on December 15. But the resettled villages came under heavy attack from Kuki militants who even used powerful bombs last night.
All the right-thinking people ought to condemn the attack in the strongest terms, he said.
It is well known that the Government of India has its hands in the Manipur crisis in a big way, the AMUCO president alleged and urged the Government of India to put an end to its policy of creating divisions and animosity among the different communities of Manipur.
The Government of India must thwart all the attempts to push the State into fresh unrest and chaos amid tireless efforts of all stakeholders to bring peace and normalcy in the State, Sanjoy said.
Pointing out that village volunteers of the valley have been driven out by the Government from foothill and peripheral areas while armed Kukis are still given a free hand in the hill areas, he demanded the Government to effectively check the unlawful, aggressive and violent activities of the armed Kukis immediately.
