IMPHAL, Dec 18 : The Rashtriya Seva Sangthan Parivaar Bharat (RSSPB) has urged Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla to apprehend the 'terrorists' responsible for the recent gun and bomb attack at Torbung.
In a letter, the organization stated that the attack, carried out by heavily armed miscreants targeting resettled civilians, has triggered panic and fear in an already fragile region bordering Bishnupur and Chura-chandpur districts.
The RSSPB also urged the Governor to restore a popular elected administration in Manipur and ensure accountable governance.
Additionally, decisive measures need to be implemented under the Inner Line Permit system to regulate and curb the uncontrolled influx of immigrants, which has been a major source of demographic tension and insecurity in the State, it added. Accusing the Governor of failing to safeguard the integrity and security of Manipur and the indigenous communities despite the imposition of President's Rule in the State, the organisation stated that a stronger leadership and proactive steps are essential to resolve the crisis and protect Manipur.
