IMPHAL, Dec 1: Chongtham Bishwachandra, the senior-most Superintending Engineer of Public Works Department (PWD) has been given the charge of Chief Engineer on in-charge basis in his grade pay with immediate effect, and till the same post is filled up by deputation or otherwise and until further orders.
Under Secretary (DP) M Rabichandra Singh issued an order to this effect on November 30, 2025.
Notably, the post of Chief Engineer, PWD was lying vacant after the service extension of Chief Engineer Ningombam Subhas was cancelled.
