State rowers shine with 5 gold at Asmita League 1st NE Rowing C’ships

IMPHAL, Dec 19 : Manipur rowers shone with 5 gold medals at the Asmita League 1st Northeast Rowing Regatta & Interstate Challenger Championships 2025 that concluded today at Umiam Lake, Shillong in Meghalaya.
In the three day championships, the State junior women’s team dominated in all the 500 m events to sweep three gold medals.
Heisnam Swevia earned a gold medal in the junior women’s 500 m single scull competition before Laishram Rojika and Leitanthem Roshibina bagged the gold medal in the 500 m double scull competition.
Swevia, Laishram Rojika, Leitanthem Roshibina, and Laishram Urbashi also combined well in the 500 m quadruple scull to seal the third gold medal of the category.
Meanwhile, Oinam Babilika clinched a gold medal in the sub-junior girls’ 500 m single scull event before Khwairakpam Bidyaluxmi and Leishangthen Pritty claimed the double scull gold.
