10th MNCA Plate Tournament YAC steamroll YPHUC by 185 runs for 5th Group A win

IMPHAL, Dec 20 : Rampant YAC, Yaiskul further boosted their semi-final hopes in the 10th MNCA Plate Tournament as they crushed YPHUC, Lalambung by 185 runs for their fifth win in 6 matches at Lairenjam Public Ground this afternoon.
YAC, who opted to bat first, rode on a fluent half century from Nehru (59 off 51, 8 fours) who gathered 116 runs for the first wicket with O Kishan (41 off 51; 3 fours) and 40 extras conceded by YPHUC, to pile up a massive total of 248 runs for all wickets down in 33.5 overs.
YAC the defended their total by bowling out YPHUC for a meagre total of 63 runs thanks to excellent bowling performances from Oinam Kiran (3/10 in 5 overs), Aribam Bidhyananda (2/12 in 5 overs), Oinam John (2/10 in 3 overs), and Singhajit Sharma (2/24 in 4 overs).
Amit Singh 31 off 16 (1 four and 3 sixes) and Singhajit Sharma 29 off 19 (2 fours and 1 six) also made significant contributions in the YAC innings that saw Saikhom Amitakanta (3/35), Thongam Srinivas (2/29), Sarungbam Rustam (2/29) and Konsam Mangal (2/25) sharing 9 wickets for YPHUC.
YPHUC’s Irom Ishor was the only double digit run getter for the team in chase as he returned with 11 off 24 while 4 others were dismissed on ducks.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, MPA, Thounaojam notched up their third straight Group B league stage win after three opening game losses by handing NAPSA, Kha Imphal a 6 wicket defeat.
NAPSA opted to bat first but were bundled out for a lowly total of 108 runs in 20.3 overs before MPA cruised to the winning 112 for 4 in 23.2 overs.
Ksh Richard 15 off 15, K Electronic 15 off 9, and Ksh Chingkhei 15 off 15 were the leading run getters for NAPSA in the first innings that saw MPA’s Chingtham Albish (3/29 in 4 overs), Huidrom Guneshwor (2/8), and Huidrom Dhanashyam (2/28) sharing 7 crucial wickets.
In reply, MPA had a shaky start and were reduced to 37/2 in 10.3 overs before Huidrom Guneshwor and Huidrom Dhanashyam 35 off 21 recovered the chase by gathering 61-runs for the third wicket. Huidrom Guneshwor however held on to score an unbeaten 28 off 51 balls and steered MPA to winning 112.
W Naresh, H Boney, Ksh Chingkhei and N Bipin picked a wicket apiece in this innings for NAPSA.
