69th NSG Sepaktakraw U-17 boys and girls, U-19 boys cruise into final; U-19 girls falter

IMPHAL, Dec 20 : State U-17 boys and girls and U-19 boys are assured of at least a silver medal each in the ongoing 69th National School Games Sepaktakraw as they romped past their respective rivals in their semi-final matches staged today.
The U-19 girls however faltered back to back in the semi-final and the hard line matches to conclude their journey on a sour note.
Manipur U-17 boys made it to the final with a 15-12, 15-10 win over Uttar Pradesh today in a semi-final match.
They will play Bihar in the final tomorrow.
Earlier yesterday, the State lads defeated hosts Rajasthan 15-4, 15-6 in the quarterfinals to book their semi-final ticket.
The U-17 girls meanwhile earned their final ticket with a 15-12, 15-8 win over hosts Rajasthan. They will square off against Andhra Pradesh in the title clash.
Yesterday, they outlasted Maharashtra 15-8, 15-11 to reach the last-4 stage.
The U-19 boys on the other hand eased past Odisha 15-7, 15-6 to set up the title clash with Bihar tomorrow.
Yesterday, the State boys outlasted Uttar Pradesh 15-9, 15-13 and entered the last-4 stage.
The U-19 girls, who had a promising start to the tournament, meanwhile, suffered a 17-15, 8-15, 7-15 loss to Maharashtra in the semi-finals before going down in the hard line match as well.
