N Pholendro, T Russia win 1st State Level Ipu Taret Memorial Half Marathon titles

IMPHAL, Dec 21 : Ningombam Pholendro of Bashikhong and Tayenjam Russia of Ngairangbam emerged as the men and women’s category winners  in the 1st State Level Ipu Taret Memorial Half Marathon that was conducted today by Kakching Kalai, Kakching in association with Athletic Association of Manipur.
Ningombam Pholendro clocked 1 hour 5 minutes 59.71 seconds (1:05:59.71) to top the men’s category as Md Sahidur Rahman of Lilong (1:06:55.26) and K Somorjit of Yairipok (1:07:01.71) finished second and third.
Kh Atomjit of Heirok Part II (1:07:09.99) and Y Anjit of Waiton (1:08:40.76) also made the top five finish.
In the women’s competition, Tayenjam Russia Chanu clocked 1:21:01.37 to clinch the women’s crown as Mk Minarashi of Yairipok (1:23:30.50) and Th Maria of Wangoi (1:24:08.15) finished second and third.
Th Nigita of Pangei (1:27:02.93) and L Tutu of Lalambung (1:43:13.29)  finished fourth and fifth in the segment.
Top 10 athletes in both the segments were feted with cash prize and certificates.
