IMPHAL, Dec 22: Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Thokchom Satya-brata has stated that patriotism must spring from one’s inner conscience and feeling.
Satyabrata today felicitated 13 individuals from his home Constituency of Yaiskul who have been conferred Manipur State Kala Akademi Award and Fellowship.
Speaking at the felicitation function, the Speaker said that mere rhetoric or pretending to be patriots in the media is of no value.
For anyone to excel in any art form, it needs dedication, sincerity and aptitude which spring from one’s heart and mind otherwise no one will be able to excel in any field, he said.
Likewise, sense of patriotism must originate from one’s inner self, Satyabrata said. He said that all the people who love their motherland and wish for peace must emulate those dedicated artists/artistes. The Speaker also called upon all the communities to promote mutual respect and harmony so as to bring peace and stability in Manipur. Some financial aid is being given to artists/artistes under the Chief Minister Gi Artist Singi Tengbang, the Speaker noted before announcing that he would launch a different scheme at his personal capacity under which financial aids would be provided to talented artists/artistes of Yaiskul AC. Satyabrata feted all the 13 individuals who have won Manipur State Kala Akademi Award and Fellowship with a cash reward of Rs 10,000 each.
