National Mathematics Day observed

Imphal, Dec 23 : The 2nd day of National Mathematics Day observance was held today at DM College of Science, Imphal jointly organized by the Department of Mathematics, Dhanamanjuri University (DMU), and the Students' Forum For Mathematics, DMU, with the objective of promoting mathematical awareness and honouring the contributions of great mathematicians.
As per a press release, the programme was graced by Professor W Chandbabu Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Dhanamanjuri University, as the chief guest.
The function was presided over by Professor L Shambhu Singh, Head, Department of Mathematics, DMU, while Professor Ksh Birbal Singh, Dean, School of Human and Environmental Sciences and Principal, DM College of Science, attended as the guest of honour.
Other dignitaries who participated in the programme included Professor M Kuber Singh, Head, Department of Mathematics, DM College of Science; Dr Th Nilachandra Singh, Head, Department of Mathematics, DM College of Arts; Dr S Samarendra Singh, Head, Department of Mathematics, GP Women's College, DMU; and Professor N Rajmuhon Singh.
The first day of observance was held yesterday at the auditorium of DM College of Arts, Imphal.
