IMPHAL, Dec 23 : With a call for peace and unity, the All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO), Thadou Students' Association (TSA), Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) and All Manipur Arts and Culture Students' Union (AMACSU) conveyed their Christmas greetings to the people of Manipur.
In a message issued by its publicity secretary Heisnam Phoren Mangang, AMUCO emphasised that Christmas which commemorates the birth of Lord Jesus Christ spreads the message of peace.
The Organization appealed to the people of Manipur, regardless of their religion, to unite for peace by forgiving one another.
"Let’s work together by supporting one another for the development of Manipur," AMUCO further appealed.
The Thadou Students' Association-General Headquarters (TSA-GHQ) also prayed for Christmas to bring healing, harmony and unity in Manipur.
Conveying its greetings to Thadous across the world and to all the people of Manipur, TSA said that 2025 has been marked by serious challenges and meaningful progress in 'our shared pursuit of peace' in Manipur.
Recalling the meeting held in Imphal in August this year between Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM) and various civil society organizations, TSA stated that the Thadou community has paid a heavy price for their stance on peace in Manipur, with their leader, Nehkam Jomhao, martyred shortly after the meeting.
TSA also stated that the Thadou community’s hope for peace has been vindicated, dedicating their peace efforts to the 'resilience' of the Thadou people and the peace-loving individuals of Manipur for their role in promoting harmony in the State.
Thadou people are champions of peace in Manipur, TSA added.
It also said that the Thadou community has resisted Kuki separatist and extremist ideologies.
MSF also extended their greetings.
Calling for peaceful coexistence among all communities, the Federation emphasized that it is the responsibility of all people in Manipur to work together to safeguard the State.
Lets reject the idea of separatism and work together for a vibrant Manipur, MSF appealed.
AMACSU, while extending its greetings, also prayed for peace in Manipur.
