BJP Govt may return by Jan, says Joykisan

IMPHAL, Dec 23: BJP MLA Kh Joykisan has stated that a BJP Government may return in the State by January 2026.
The 13th death anniversary of Thangjam Dwija- mani alias Nanao was observed today at his memorial located at Cheiraoching, Thangmeiband.
Thangjam Dwijamani alias Nanao, a video journalist, died after he was hit by a bullet fired by security forces while covering a mass protest at Thangmei-band Sinam Leikai on December 23, 2012.  
Speaking at the death anniversary function jointly organised by NLC Club Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai and the family of Thangjam Dwijamani, MLA Joykisan said that a BJP Government may be formed in the State by January 2026.
He said that he will put up a proposal for a welfare scheme for journalists once a new Government is formed.
Every citizen/community has the right to pursue their aspirations and demands but one should stop raising impractical demands, Joykisan said.
It is such impractical demands which are making all  sections of society suffer extreme misery in Manipur  today, he added.
He appealed to all the people of both the hills and the valley, particularly youth, not to be swayed or influenced by those elements with vested interests.
The MLA also called upon all the communities to shed communal and parochial outlooks but work together for a united Manipur.
Members of AMUCO, NLC Club, local Meira Paibis and AMWJU president Asem Bhakta also took part in the death anniversary function where people paid floral tributes to Thangjam Dwijamani alias Nanao.
Notably, Guwahati-based Prime News video journalist Thangjam Dwijamani alias Nanao was hit and killed by a bullet fired by security forces while covering a mass protest at Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai on December 23, 2012.
