IMPHAL, Dec 24: Pointing out that Manipur is the common home of different communities, the All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) has called upon everyone to contribute towards making Manipur a peaceful and progressive State.
On the eve of Christmas, AMUCO and five other organisations presented simple gifts to several Churches of Imphal today and extended best wishes.
AMUCO president Sorokhaibam Sanjoy said that each and every community must help each other and come to the aid of a community when the particular community is going through a hard time.
He also called upon all the communities to understand the several issues plaguing the State and work collectively to resolve them. “To make Manipur a peaceful State is the responsibility of each and every one of us”, Sanjoy said.
All the people need to grasp the Government of India’s alleged divide and rule policy, and fight it collectively, he said.
MBC Church Pastor Rev Zuankamang Daimai said that MBC Centre Church, Imphal was taking pro-active roles in several issues which beset the State from time to time.
The Pastor also underscored the need for every community to leave aside all differences of ethnicity and religion, and to tackle all future issues collectively.
Rev Zuankamang Daimai also wished the Christmas festival may bring peace and communal harmony in Manipur.
