IDPs remind Govt

IMPHAL, Dec 24 : Joint representatives of internally displaced persons (IDPs) have once again called on the Governor and the Chief Secretary to ensure the safe rehabilitation of IDPs.
In a reminder memorandum endorsed by COCOMI, the IDPs highlighted that only seven days remain for the Government to fulfill its earlier assurance regarding their resettlement.
As usual, the IDPs urged the Governor and Chief Secretary to promptly issue a clear resettlement plan with village-specific timelines, ensure adequate security measures for their safe return, and hold the responsible officials accountable for any lapses or delays.
The IDPs also urged the Government to engage directly with them to ensure transparency and confidence building in the resettlement process.
