IMPHAL, Dec 24 : Manipur were 170/9 at stumps to take a 41-run lead against hosts Nagaland in the final match of the Cooch Behar Trophy Plate Group at Sovima Cricket Ground, Sovima.
The hosts won the toss and opted to bat first but were dismissed for a paltry first innings total of 129 runs within 46.2 overs as Rain picked five (5/8 in 10 overs including 5 maidens) and Naesh picked four (4/11 in 5.2 overs including 1 maiden) were unstoppable and took wickets at will to keep Nagaland line up in tatters.
Resuming the day, Manipur were 170/9 in 41 overs with Lancheba 20 off 55 (2 fours) and O Reolin 24 off 23 (2 fours and 2 sixes) batting.
Thokchom Lucky had earlier scored a half century (50-ball 55; 6 fours and 1 six) and had gathered 58 off 47 balls with Danish (17 off 24) for the first wicket to give Manipur a promising start.
For Nagaland, Yashimeren Jamir scripted a record by collecting 8 wickets alone (8/47 in 17 overs) as Darsh Choudhary claimed one (1/34 in 11 overs).
