MPA, RRCC win in 10th MNCA Plate Tournament

IMPHAL, Dec 24 : MPA, Thounaojam ended their Group B campaign in the 10th MNCA Plate Tournament with a 5-wicket thrashing of Sagolband United (SU) for the fourth straight win in 7 matches at Lairenjam Public Ground.
SU won the toss and opted to bat first but were dismissed for 99 in 27.1 overs in the face of unplayable bowling performances from Yumnam Sheiteendra (5/36 in 7 overs) and Huidrom Dhanashyam (2/25 in 4.1 overs) for MPA.
MPA then cruised to the target in 22.3 overs thanks to leading knocks from Th Chinglensana 21 off 37, Chingtham Albish 18 off 28, and Yumnam Sheiteendra 12 off 22. For SU, K Kenedy scored the highest 34 off 39 followed by RK Pritamkumar 17 off 29 and A Alen 11 not out off 41 before Sagolsem Hemjit returned with a haul of three wickets (3/34 in 7 overs).
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, RRCC, Churachandpur ended their 4-game losing streak in the Group A competition by securing a 7-wicket win over YPHUC, Lalambung.
Louriyam Elan (4/19), Sanasam Ruby (2/1), and L Pravin Kumar (2/38) shared 8 wickets to bundle out toss winners YPHUC for 132 runs in 27.3 overs before Y Rakesh Mohan scored an unbeaten half century (60 off 57 balls; 5 fours and 4 sixes) to take RRCC to the winning 134/3 within 21.4 overs.
Chandrakumar topscored for YPHUC earlier adding a 66-ball 44 before E Vicky picked two wickets (2/38) in a lost cause.
