MPSC, PCC post comprehensive wins in 5th MNCA Superplate Trophy

IMPHAL, Dec 24 : MPSC, Manipur Central Jail and PCC, Mayaikoibi posted comprehensive wins in today’s matches of the ongoing 5th MNCA Superplate Trophy.
At Model Hr Sec and Oriental College Ground, MPSC thrashed UCC, Kangchup by 150 runs for the second straight Group B win.
Soubam Kingson 69 off 61 (6 fours and 5 sixes) and Sarangthem Shangker 68 off 68 (7 fours and 1 six) shone with the bat to help MPSC post 233/9 in 35 overs after they won the toss and elected to bat first.
Sarangthem Shangker (4/8 in 3.2 overs) and Habibulah Ahammed (4/22 in 4 overs) then swept the UCC batters in reply and bundled them out for 83 runs within 17.2 overs to earn the huge win.
For UCC, Mocha 3/33, K Gulson 2/36, and L Bipinkumar 2/18 were among the wickets in the first innings before they had a forgettable innings in reply.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, PCC  crushed KASC, Khomidok by 152 runs in a Group A encounter.
Takhelmayum Vikash 74 off 53 (6 fours and 5 fours), Ningthoujam Rohit 61 off 46 (8 fours and 2 sixes), and Charoibam Tyson 45 off 52 (7 fours) guided toss winners PCC to a daunting total of 255/5 in the alloted 35 overs before Thokchom Anand (5/23 in 6 overs) and Rohit Soubam (4/26 in 4.5 overs) dismissed KASC for 103 runs in 19.5 overs.
Md Sakif Hussain (3/44 in 7 overs) had earlier enjoyed a three wicket haul for KASC before Afjal Khan scored highest 40 for the team in reply.
