Protest staged

IMPHAL, Dec 26: A sit-in protest was held today against the initiative being taken up to construct a rotary car parking facility on the eastern roadside of Nagamapal, opposite the Laningthou Eshing Chaiba complex, today.
During the demonstration, placards were displayed with messages such as "Save Lai Lam Thokpham Site," "Save Late Night Vegetable Market Site," "Save Religious Site," "Protect Our Cultural Rights," "Protect Environment of Nagamapal," and "Save Religious Site."
Speaking to the media, the protesters expressed that constructing the parking structure at this location would not only affect the residents of Nagamapal but also the local businesses operating in the area.
They further stated that they had submitted a memorandum to the Governor to refrain from constructing the parking facility.
