MBC marks Christmas with prayers for peace

IMPHAL, Dec 26 : Commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, Manipur Baptist Convention (MBC) Centre Church celebrated the joyous festival of Christmas at its premises in Chingmeirong.
Led by Rev Zuankamang Daimai, Pastor, MBC Centre Church, the congregation offered prayers and performed worship songs.
Speaking on the occasion, Pastor Zuankamang Daimai conveyed Christmas greetings to the people of Manipur.
He prayed to the Almighty to ensure the safe resettlement of IDPs whose lives have been uprooted by the conflict and for a semblance of normalcy to return in their lives.
Praying for the suffering of people in Manipur to end with the arrival of Christmas, he also appealed for harmonious coexistence among different communities.
Mayanglambam Rame-shwar, MLA, Kak- ching AC who was also present conveyed warm Christmas wishes to the Christian community and prayed for Manipur to be a peaceful and prosperous State filled with closely-knit, loving communities.
The Christmas celebration was attended by people from various communities. Notable dignitaries include T Dairu, SR Chimsin Koireng, Dr Neilenthang Telien (IAS) Special Secretary, Wahengbam Peace, Melody Gangmei and Christmas and New Year Celebration Committee chairman David K Shimray.
On another note, Gorkha Bethel Baptist Church organised the 15th Christmas Celebration at MBC High School campus.
The event was graced by Zubin B, chairperson, Gorkha Bethel Baptist Church and secretary Rabi Ranpal.
